Eedee's Tale...
Eedee has finally come to a friendly, welcoming herd after being in an unwlcoming situation for many years. Sadly she was bullied by her pasture mate, who happened to be a minature donkey. It just goes to show you it's not the size of the bully. Ultimately, Eedee was rescued from life in a pasture when the owner could no longer care for her due to the owner's age. This is a common risk since donkeys have long life spans (40 plus years) and can outlive their human caretakers.
When she arrived at Camp Tails, she was malnourished and in desperate need of dental and hoof care. The mini donkey that she was rescued with continued to bully her so they were separated and both now have new homes. The transformation for Eedee has been dramatic and fun to watch. Despite her age (approximately 35), she is now healthy, happy, and continues to thrive. She formed a new bond with Marge (see Marge's tale). Eedee requires a special diet of soft mash at least 3 times per day because she has worn her teeth down to the gums. She is also on a daily medication to ease pain from arthritis.
She loves to go for leisurely walks with Marge, being brushed, being doted on, and hanging out with her pals.
