Josie, along with her bonded pair Joaquin, was the first donkey to call Camp Tails her forever home.  She came to us as an owner surrender, when they could no longer care for her properly due to health issues.  Josie is in her early 30's but don't let her age fool you, she can be sassy and a bit pushy if she doesn't get her way. 

 

Josie is our most intuitive donkey and is super smart.  She innately understands when something is difficult for one of us and does her best to help make things easier. Similarly, she has yet to meet a latch she can't open and is fond of making her way around the stables, opening doors as she goes.  When we hear a ruckus, we're not surprised to find Josie checking out new areas and happily discovering new things.

 

Josie is also a sweetie.  She loves meeting new people and giving and receiving affection.  She likes to go on walks and loves to get dressed up.
